Wax Museum in Odessa

The history of the Wax Museum «Baba Utya’s» in Odessa has begun almost ten years ago, in 1998. It was created by well-known philanthropist Alexander Pavlovsky. The interest of the Odessa wax museum is that here you can not only see the wax figures of the outstanding persons of history, cinema, television and music, you can also try to touch the material of the wax figures - it's not forbidden.
 
The uniqueness of the Odessa wax museum «Baba Utya’s» consists in the fact that it is the only in wax museum in Ukraine with permanent exhibition. Among the first figures, reproduced in wax, are the founders of Odessa, famous historical figures such as Osip de Ribas, Duke de Richelieu and count Alexander Langeron. Later the collection of wax figures has replenished with such personalities as writers Pushkin, Zhukovsky, Gogol and many others.
The exposition of wax museum in Odessa was updated and expanded and for today is represented with more than 70 wax figures, which are arranged thematically, and displayed in separate halls. For example, in the «Royal hall» you can see the outstanding figures of history, such as Catherine the Great, the founder of Odessa, Yemelyan Pugachev, Boris Godunov. «Children's hall» is represented by the different heroes of fairy tales and cartoons, so that young visitors of the museum can admire characters such as Shrek and his friends, Spiderman, Batman, Asterix and Obelix, as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean. In the hall, which is called «Hollywood», you'll probably see a wax copy of Angelina Jolie, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Louis de Funes and many others. Here are sealed in wax also famous Liverpool Quartet «Beatles». Has not managed and without the Musketeers, for which carried a separate room, where guests are warmly greeted by Athos, Posthos, Aramis, and D'artagnan.
It is noteworthy that the wax museum «Baba Utya’s» is also a cafe. Here you can treat yourself to a cup of aromatic coffee in the company of the first visitors of the museum - Leonid Utesov, Anna Akhmatova and Gregory Kotovsk, also depicted in the wax.
The Museum has also a small copy of the most famous street of Odessa - Deribasovskaya street. There is an art gallery here in museum, where you can enjoy viewing the works of fine art.
